Clifden Creative Arts Workshops
Step away from the everyday and into a world of creativity in Connemara.
The Clifden Station House Hotel has partnered with artists Clare Henderson and Johanne Webb to provide a 4 night, 3 day series of creative sessions that will clarify and enrich your artistic goals.
Check in on Monday November 16th, or Monday November 23rd for your 4 night break. While staying with us, you will take part in morning and afternoon sessions in drawing, painting and printing, and practical thinking sessions in creating confidence, confronting your inner critic and how to move past your creative blocks and think about art making from an altered perspective.
You will finish the workshop sessions with a folder full of drawings, paintings and prints, improved mark making and printing skills and a deeper confidence and focus on your artistic goals. This series is suitable for beginner and experienced artists alike, and all materials will be provided. These sessions are based on Clare and Johanne’s shared love of community, creativity and the stunning landscape of Connemara.
Johanne Webb
Johanne Webb is a multidisciplinary performer, facilitator, director and writer with over 25 years’ experience in the arts. Passionate about helping people unlock their creativity, she has worked extensively with individuals, groups and artists. A regular director and performer with Macnas, Johanne is also a recipient of Druid’s FUEL Artist and Axis Assemble bursaries.
Clare Henderson
Clare Henderson is a Clifden-based visual artist specialising in printmaking and drawing, inspired by the landscape, folklore and history of the West of Ireland. She is Visual Arts Coordinator for Clifden Arts Festival and founding manager of Clifden Studios. Her award-winning work is held in collections including The National Gallery of Ireland and The Office of Public Works.
Whether you’re an experienced artist or simply curious to try something new, no previous experience is necessary. All workshops are relaxed, welcoming and designed to encourage you to experiment, explore and enjoy the creative process.
Your four-night experience includes Dinner, Bed & Breakfast each day, all creative workshops and materials, plus full access to the hotel’s Leisure Centre and Gym throughout your stay.
