Clifden Station House Theatre
Restored within the Original Railway Station Goods Store, the theatre has a 200 tiered seating facility. The theatre hosts live performances from local, national and international acts and offers a range of styles including Music, Drama, Comedy & Dance. The Theatre houses a large format digital laser projector and screen with surround sound allowing us to show classic films and documentaries of local interest in a total cinema environment. Padraig Jack was born into a musical family from the Aran islands. His dad is the songwriter Barry Ronan and he is the nephew of the Irish poet and Aosdána member Mary O’Malley. A native of Aran which has produced writers Liam O Flaithearta, Máirtín Ó Direáin and Breandán Ó hEithir, Padraig is proudly bilingual both as a conversationalist and a songwriter.
A songwriter and composer who writes and sings meaningful songs on guitar and piano in Gaelic and English, his debut album ‘Making Sand’ was named the RTE Radio Album of the Week garnering critical acclaim from Hot Press, Rock’n’Reel magazine (UK) and The Alternate Root (US) and the title track was nominated for ‘Best Original Track’ at the RTE Folk Awards. Padraig is currently recording his second album with renowned producer John Reynolds (Sinead O Connor, Damien Dempsey) and will release the first single of his upcoming second album in Spring 2023.
