Women's Christmas in Connemara
Celebrate Little Christmas with a touch of tradition
Dating back to the early 20th century, Women’s Little Christmas, or “Nollaig na mBan” in Irish, traditionally falls on January 6th, marking the end of the Christmas season. Historically, on this day, Irish women would take a well-deserved break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday preparations, allowing them to gather together to relax and celebrate. It was a day for women to enjoy each other’s company, free from the responsibilities of cooking and household chores. As we celebrate Women’s Christmas this year, we pay homage to these historical roots while adding our own touch of relaxation and celebration.
